I (Joanie) have only been to English speaking countries, all around Great Britain, and the Channel Islands, so going to a country where English was not spoken seemed a bit daunting. We aren't "Tour" type of folks but realized that planning every detail was more than either of us could handle with our busy lives.
So, fairly quickly we discovered RickSteves.com and when we stumbled upon the "My Way" pages, we were sold.
What We Wanted:
- independence to do our own thing
- travel arrangements from place A to place B arranged for us
- hotel accommodations in each city arranged for us
- wanted to meet nice people but not necessarily eat every meal with them
- take a nap when we wanted
- go somewhere else, eat something else, when we wanted
And We Got It! This "My Way" tour was The Way for us.

- hotel accommodations so much better than we ever could have pulled off
- we got an amazing Guide (Amanda) in the process, just wow!
- we met so many awesome people on the tour and made our own arrangements to meet for dinner, sites, and shows - even drinks on our patio pre-tapas bar hopping.
- it could not have been more perfect for us. Sooo grateful we found this alternative to a more traditional tour!
