May 23 - Madrid: The Museum of Joaquin Sorolla

This place, the actual home and studio of Joaquin Sorolla, oil painter extraordinaire, left me breathless. Warning, load of pics! I couldn't help myself and shot every pic of a painting that made me swoon.

And now for the paintings, ready to swoon? Interiors and Paintings..I am finding it challenging to organize the uploaded pics via my tablet.

Some of these are very small paintings, maybe 6 x 8 inches, on very thin wood. Stunning and intimate. I love a compelling small painting.

I found this quite stunning as an abstract, actually displayed with his sailboat paintings.
